Road trip along the Basque coast

The Basque coast is a paradise for travelers who love rugged nature, charming villages and a touch of adventure. Start your journey in San Sebastián, the elegant city famous for its beautiful bay, lively tapas bars (pintxos) and vibrant atmosphere. From here, drive to the famous Flysch coast near Zumaia, where millions of years of history are revealed in the impressive rock layers rising from the sea.

Another gem is Sakoneta, a more hidden stretch of coastline where a walk across the rocks lets you experience the power of nature up close. Via Deba and Mendexa, charming coastal towns with picturesque beaches, you’ll arrive in Mundaka, a favorite among surfers thanks to the iconic wave that rolls into its bay.

Further along awaits Bermeo, a colorful fishing village where narrow streets and a lively harbor bring Basque tradition to life. The road trip ends in Bakio, surrounded by vineyards and known as the gateway to the impressive island and monastery of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe – an absolute must-see.

A road trip full of nature, culture and culinary discoveries: the Basque coast is best experienced by car, at your own pace.

Mallorca – from mountains to bays

Mallorca is more than just sun and beaches: the island combines rugged mountains, picturesque villages and idyllic coastlines. Start your journey in the north at Alcúdia, a charming town with a historic center and access to beautiful beaches. From there, drive to the spectacular Cap de Formentor peninsula, where winding roads and viewpoints offer unforgettable panoramas.

Time for nature in the mountainous interior: discover the crystal-clear mountain lakes Gorg Blau and Embassament de Cúber, a perfect spot for a short hike. The route then leads along the coast to Far del Cap Gros and the picturesque Banyalbufar, where terraced vineyards and olive groves line the hillsides. Further south you reach Andratx, a lively town known for its luxury marina and artistic character, before arriving in the bustling capital Palma, full of culture, shops and the impressive La Seu Cathedral.

From Palma, head south: Santanyí and Cala Figuera charm with their authentic village atmosphere and fishing harbor, while nearby Cala d’Or is famous for its white houses and lively resorts. Don’t miss Cala Figuera Port, where colorful boats float in turquoise waters.

Next, drive east: via Felanitx, a traditional village with markets and vineyards, to Cala Millor, one of the island’s most popular beach resorts. Your route ends at Capdepera and Cala Agulla beach, where you can conclude your road trip with a mix of history (the castle of Capdepera) and relaxation at one of Mallorca’s most beautiful beaches.

A road trip full of contrasts: from rugged mountain lakes to hidden fishing harbors, and from vibrant cities to quiet bays – Mallorca is best discovered by car.
